This late addition to a list of Prague's top dining experiences quickly became a popular spot on the riverbank. The building, dating from the 18th century, which used to serve as a brick factory
(cihelna), was in very bad shape before its extensive reconstruction started in 2000. Now the interior is divided into a restaurant, cocktail bar, cafe, and music lounge, and the modern furniture from top Czech designer Barbora Skorpilová is simple and comfortable. From the large summer terrace you can experience one of the most exciting and unforgettable views of the river and Charles Bridge. The food is a good standard; I enjoyed their homemade Czech potato soup with forest mushrooms and garlic called
bramboracka and Czech
svícková (sirloin) served in a cream sauce with dumplings and cranberries.
