The Metropolitan wouldn't be out of place in San Francisco, with its see -- with city views -- and be seen -- at the industrial-chic bar -- vibe. Instead, it's right at home in Salt Lake City and offers inspired fare prepared by a team of four chefs. Choose from a seasonally changing selection of dishes with European and Asian influences, gorgeous presentations, and sumptuous flavors. On a previous visit, the meal started with oysters with red peppers and asparagus soup with pancetta, cracked pepper, and olive oil before moving on to a main course of risotto with plump tiger prawns. Diners on a tighter budget might opt for the "bar bites" menu of $8 sliders, mac 'n' cheese, and other comfort foods, or taste-sized portions of soups and salads. Full liquor service is available with a $4 membership.
