Traditional northern Italian cuisine (in this case, from Emilia-Romagna) doesn't get much respect these days, but the food at Amarcord is so good that it's worth rediscovering the joys of freshly made pasta or risotto teamed with a lovingly prepared sauce. Think gnocchi with Italian sausage, fresh tomato, and basil, or linguine with mussels, scallops, and tiger prawns. Wines hail from Tuscany and California. The atmosphere is formal without being fussy. Service is knowledgeable and very friendly.
