Perhaps it was the renown of the Grand Bazaar (aka the Kapaliçarsisi or Covered Market) that put Istanbul on the map of the world's great shopping destinations. It's certainly one of the world's major tourist traps. It's also a feast of color and texture, of glitter and glitz. It's also not to be missed. So take a deep breath, leave your valuables (and any cash you'd rather not spend) back in the hotel safe, and dive in.
